Every country has its own national animal as its symbol. The national animals represent a particular country by its characters, features, behaviours, and natures.

Countries and their national animals represent strength and greatness in their own unique manner.

It is not necessary that the national animals will appear in the national flag or emblem of a country. However, some countries include their national animals in their national flag.

For example- Sri Lanka has included its national animal “lion” in its national flag.

A national animal symbolizes a country’s culture and tradition. It is quite interesting to know the different countries and their national animals.

  • Australia

  • Libya

Libya has the Arabian Eagle as its national animal. Lybia has chosen this Eagle as its national animal as it is a symbol of courage and liberty.

  • France

France has named the Gallic Rooster as its national animal. It was in the ninth century that France named the Gallic Rooster as its national animal.

People in France believe that like Jesus showed the arrival of light after darkness the rooster notifies people the same thing. The rooster also symbolizes the vigilance in France.

  • Myanmar

In the list of different countries and their different national animals, Myanmar shares its national animal with India i.e. tiger.

  • Canada

China decided to name the Giant Panda as its national animal amongst all the categories of the panda.

South Andean Huemul is known as the national animal of Chile. This animal is quite similar to deer having short legs.

The Huemul has a lifespan of 14 years. As per the IUCN red list of Threatened, Huemul has been registered as endangered species.
